What is RSS?

RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication and is based on XML, a widely used standard for content distribution between applications on the Internet. RSS feed reading applications (also called readers) can check any websites you requested for updated articles and then display those feeds to be read and organized later.

There are many readers to choose from, many of which are free, and some even work with podcasts and your mobile device. For more information, type "feed reader" in your Internet search engine. Currently there are more than 2,000 feed readers available.
