• Sketch Wizards

  Additional estimation wizards for plumbing, HVAC, insulation, and decks have been added to automate common estimating workflows and improve accuracy. These wizards automatically add the line items to the appropriate rooms in a single click.

• Annotation Layer

  This new annotation feature allows users to include notes on floor plans and digital images. These notes may be toggled on or off to better explain your estimate by adding notes, identifying the loss with circles, arrows, and other drawing tools.

• Assignment Workflow

  Send and receive assignments seamlessly through Xactimate. This streamlined assignment process reduces estimating time while improving accuracy.

• Language Packs

  New language packs available for Xactimate-Spanish and French (CA), allowing the user to write their estimate in English while printing reports in Spanish or French, as an example.

• New and Updated Flood Forms

  Existing flood forms have been updated to match the latest NFIP reports. New flood forms have also been added including the ICC Adjuster Report, Mobile Home Worksheet, and Preliminary Damage Assessment

• Xactimate Dashboard

  Upon login, the Control Center will show the last 10 projects opened as well as any new assignments that have been downloaded. Users can quickly connect to download assignments and other data when first entering Xactimate.

• Claim Manager Enhancements

  XactCentral is integrated into the Admin Info module, allowing users to create estimates, claim reports, and coverage types and limits from the same screen.

• Microsoft Word Template Integration

  The Word token functionality has been integrated directly into Xactimate, making it easier to create and use custom documents by dragging and dropping tokens in the preferred location.

Supported Tablet PCs

Xactware has always been, and continues to be committed to developing software specifically targeted toward cutting-edge technology. In 1991, we were the first company in the insurance industry to develop property estimation software for the tablet PC. This platform was used to settle over half-a-million property losses.

That tradition continues with Xactimate 24 / 25 and XactRemodel, designed to be fully compatible with virtually all the recently available Tablet PCs running Windows XP Tablet PC Edition 2005. In fact, one of Xactware's largest customers is currently running Xactimate company-wide on almost 2,000 Toshiba Tablet PCs.

Convertible Tablet PCs Convertible tablets, such as the Lenovo ThinkPad X41, are equipped with keyboards. They resemble conventional laptop PCs but have the ability to rotate the touch-sensitive display and lay it flat over the key-board for a more comfortable, pen-based interface when desired. These devices are very versatile, allowing for fast keyboard entry when possible but can be somewhat more fragile than other options.

Slate Tablet PCs Tablets such as the Toshiba R10-S804TD are thin, very lightweight, and are not equipped with keyboards. Some models do come with removable, portable keyboards. Virtually all modules have docking stations available that provide for attachment to a full-size monitor, keyboard, and mouse.

Ruggedized Tablet PCs These devices are built for environments where hardware may be easily damaged. They are typically equipped with tough casings and shock-absorbing hard drives. These tablets are intended for a work-force in outdoor, dirty, and less than ideal conditions. They are ultra-durable, but are often more expensive than other comparable models and typically lag behind in overall computing power and features.

Xactimate^® System Requirements

Note: Xactimate 25.1 is supported and has been tested on Microsoft’s Vista Business 64 bit Operating System. Xactware invests a great deal to emulate and test hundreds of combinations of hardware and software scenarios. We focus on the scenarios predominant in the market that will return the best results for our customers. Although we have not tested Xactimate on other iterations of Vista 64 bit versions, it is likely to work and we plan on certifying future iterations as customer need is reported.

Multi-Version Install: Because prior versions of Xactimate are not supported in a 64 bit environment, multi-version install installations that include Xactimate 25.1 must be used with a 32 bit operating system.

• Xactimate 25 Stand-Alone

  Before installing Xactimate 25 on your computer, it is critical that your computer meets the minimum system requirements for Xactimate 25.

  Windows XP Service Pack 2 (Service Pack 3 starting with Xactimate 25.2.)

  • Windows XP Media Center 2005 Edition - supported starting with Xactimate 25.2.
  • Processor Speed - Xactimate 25 requires at least a 1 GHz processor (1.5 GHz or better is recommended).
  • RAM - Xactimate 25 requires that your machine have at least 512 MB of RAM (1 GB or better is recommended).
  • Hard Drive Space - Xactimate 25 requires that your computer have at least 1.5 Gig of free hard drive space available.
  • Monitor Resolution - Xactimate 25 requires that your monitor resolution be set to 1024x768 or higher.
  • DVD-ROM Drive - a DVD-ROM drive is required to install Xactimate.
  • Internet Access Required.

  Windows Vista

  • Windows Vista Ultimate - supported starting with Xactimate 25.2.
  • Processor Speed - Xactimate 25 requires at least a 1 GHz processor (1.5 GHz or better is recommended)
  • RAM - Xactimate 25 requires that your machine have at least 1 GB of RAM.
  • Hard Drive Space - Xactimate 25 requires that your computer have at least 1.5 Gig of free hard drive space available.
  • Monitor Resolution - Xactimate 25 requires that your monitor resolution be set to 1024x768 or higher.
  • DVD-ROM Drive - a DVD-ROM drive is required to install Xactimate.
  • Internet Access Required.
  Xactimate 25 can also be used on any Tablet PC that supports these system requirements. The Xactimate 25 system requirements changed only slightly from Xactimate 24. Additional requirements have been added to support Windows Vista. Other changes include Windows 2000, which will no longer be supported, and the RAM requirement, which has increased from 256MB to 512MB for computers using Windows XP.

• Xactimate 25 Network

  Like all networked software applications, Xactimate 25 must be installed on a workstation connected to a network which has been properly set up and attached (i.e., mapped) to a shared drive. SQL Server or SQL Express must be installed on your server. An install of SQL Express is available on your Xactimate 25 CD and will allow up to ten users to access your network without a drop in network performance. For networks with more than ten users we recommend that a full version of SQL Server be installed on your sever machine. To install Xactimate 25 you will need to know the name of your server machine, as well as the user name and password for an administrator user on your database (SQL Express or SQL Server). We highly recommend that you have a certified network technician set up and administer your network for you. Xactimate 25 supports SQL Server 2000, SQL Server 2005, and SQL Express. Xactimate 25 supports a peer-to-peer network configuration and installation. Before installing Xactimate 25 on your network, it is critical that both your server and each of your workstation computers meet all of the minimum system requirements for Xactimate 25.

  For Servers:

  Server - Your server must be at least a 2 GHz processor with at least 1 Gig of RAM (2 Gig or more is recommended) and at least 2 Gig of available hard drive space.
  Network Hardware - Your network hardware must be at least 100Base-T with Category 5 Unshielded Twisted-Pair (UTP) cable throughout all network connections.
  Internet Access - At least one of the computers on your network must have access to the Internet.

  For Workstations:

  Windows XP Service Pack 2 (Service Pack 3 starting with Xactimate 25.2.)

  Important!

  Required network software for non peer-to-peer networks includes Novell 5.0(r) (5.1 recommended) and Windows Server 2003. It is crucial that you use only one type of client driver (i.e., never mix client drivers). Choose either Novell Client 32 (version 3.3 or higher) or Microsoft's built-in clients. Never use Microsoft's Novell clients because Novell networks require Novell client software. Use the same driver on every workstation.

  The User Certification program provides a controlled exam at three different levels to independently verify the user's product knowledge and proficiency.
