Jim Loveland, Xactware president and CEO.
The past five years have included back-to-back record-breaking hurricane seasons, unstable energy prices, and a shift from a boom economy to the worst since the Great Depression. Both Xactware and Xactware users proved to be extraordinarily adept at handling these challenges. This agility continues to be tested as new challenges appear with increasing rapidity.
Xactware president and CEO, Jim Loveland, will share insights on where the industry is today, where it's going, and what Xactware and Xactware users are doing to turn challenges into opportunities.

Hurricane Hazards in the Northeast U.S.
Nicholas K. Coch, PhD., C.P.G., Professor Queens College of C.U.N.Y.
Many people in the U.S. consider hurricanes a risk of living along the gulf coast or southern Atlantic seaboard. Dr. Coch says this is far from true. Hurricanes are a threat all along the United State's east coast and the potential for damage is staggering. Based on his extensive research of past hurricanes that made landfall in the northeast, Dr. Coch presents the catastrophic possibilities of a major hurricane hitting heavily populated areas such as New York City.
Dr. Coch is a Professor of Geology in the School of Earth and Environmental Sciences at Queens College.
