Award Winning Documentation

 — December 15, 2000 —

Two Xactware, Inc., employees were recently recognized by Awards for Publication Excellence (APEX) 2000. Tom Caswell and Wendy Anderson were each honored with an Award of Excellence for their work on Xactware's software documentation. Anderson received the award for Software Manual Writing as a result of her detailed work on the XactAccount Getting Started Guide, and Caswell's Xactimate Electronic User's Guide was chosen for quality Help Files.

"It's rewarding to have our work recognized in this context," says Caswell. "We are very aware of the caliber of participants in this program, and we're pleased that our entries were so well received."

The APEX award program was established in 1988 as a way to discover innovative thinking and honor various types of publication excellence. The official APEX Business Communications Report says that judges look for "the success of the entry ... in achieving overall communications effectiveness." 4,932 entries were received for APEX 2000, and 1,274 Awards of Excellence were awarded in 96 individual categories. The competition included entries from such well-known organizations as IBM, FedEx, NASA, and Lucent Technologies.
