April 2009 Price List Update Now Available
The April 2009 price list updates for more than 460 regions in the United States and Canada are now available for download.
A summary of the price changes you will find in this update are as follows: (National Average changes which have been reported since the March 2009 price list publication):

The pricing research data for the April 2009 publication shows little overall change. In general, indicators show a slight increase at a national level while lumber material shows a decrease. Many specific items in different markets are staying relatively level or show decreases as the construction market continues to struggle overall.
It is important to remember Xactware's published pricing information is based upon recently completed surveys and estimate transactions.

Xactware makes every effort to ensure the pricing information contained in this update is representative of market costs at the time of publication. As actual market prices can vary and change rapidly, and as many factors can impact the coast of a project (including but not limited to labor, equipment, material costs, and the rates and application of sales tax), we strongly recommend all customers monitor their local market for any such changes and adjust their estimate pricing as they determine appropriate.

Changes in gasoline prices
Nationally, gasoline prices have increased 4.1% in the USA and 8.2% in Canada since the March 2009 publication.

Naming convention for this update
Price lists have historically included a date indicator in the name that included a single digit representing the year, followed by the letter A, B, C, or D representing the appropriate quarter. With the change to a monthly schedule beginning in January 2009, the date indicator used in all price lists will represent the month and year (e.g. _MAR09, _APR09).
Customers can view specific changes to price lists by logging in to the eService Center. XactAnalysis customers can view specific changes to the price lists by viewing the Quarterly Price List Changes report in the Industry Trend Reports section. This same report can be found in the Featured Highlights section of the eService Center after April 1, 2009.
Downloading a price list in Xactimate:
You must be a registered XactNet user to use this method.
- From the Control Center tab click Services in the menu bar, select Request Price List from XactNet, and then click Xactware Price List.
- From the Request Price List window, enter the country, state/province, and city for the price list you would like to download. If you would like to receive the Zip/Postal code table that goes with the requested price list, check the appropriate box.
- After making your selections, click the Download Now button.
- A window appears advising you that the price lists have been downloaded and are now available to use in Xactimate. Click OK.
