February 2009 Price List Update Now Available

OREM,
Utah
 — Sunday, February 1, 2009 —

The February 2009 price list updates for more than 460 regions in the United States and Canada are now available for download.

A summary of the price changes in this update are as follows: (National Average changes, which have been reported since the January 2009 price list publication):

  USA Canada

Basket of Goods Labor and Material 0.4% 0.6%
Billable Labor Rates 0.5% 0.5%
25 yr Shingle Labor and Material 2.0% 2.0%
25 yr Shingle Material Only 2.9% 2.9%
Lumber Material Only 0.1% 0.0%

The research in pricing for the February 2009 publication overall is showing a slight increase at a national level, yet there are also many different specific items in different markets that are showing decreases. The comp shingle prices have increased as manufacturers site high production costs, raw material costs, market instability, and inventory/warehousing costs as the main drivers.

It is important to remember that Xactware's published pricing information is based upon recently completed surveys and estimate transactions.

Xactware makes every effort to ensure that the pricing information contained in this update is representative of market costs at the time of publication. As actual market prices can vary and change rapidly, and as many factors can impact the cost of a project (including but not limited to labor, equipment, and material costs, as well as the rates and application of sales tax), we strongly recommend that all customers monitor their local market for any such changes and adjust their estimate pricing as they determine appropriate.

Please report any price changes to Xactware as soon as possible. We will, in turn, adjust any information that can be independently verified for inclusion in future price list publications. You can submit pricing feedback from within Xactimate, and online at: https://www.xactanalysis.com/. You can also send emails directly to Xactware's Pricing Team at pricing@xactware.com.

Price lists have historically included a date indicator in the name which included a single digit representing the year, followed by the letter A, B, C, or D representing the appropriate quarter. Beginning in January 2009, as price lists will be published on a monthly basis, the date indicator that Xactware will use in all price lists will represent the month and year in the following format: _JAN09,_FEB09 etc.
