Xactware Employees Pitch in for Day of Caring
More than two dozen employees from Xactware performed acts of service for local community members Thursday as part of a countywide service project.
The crew of 30 Xactware employees spent the morning helping American Fork resident Geniel Lewis repair and clean her property and a vacant lot adjacent to her home. They cut down bushes and trees, removed a barbed wire fence, repaired another fence and weeded flower beds. They also picked up all the trash, weeds and hay scattered around the back lot.
“They made it look nice,” Geniel said. “And I really appreciate it.”
Xactware paid for all the supplies used in the service project. About 40 employees from Novell in Provo joined in the effort to clean up Geniel’s property. The service project was completed in conjunction with the United Way Day of Caring—an opportunity for volunteers to perform acts of service throughout Utah County. UVU Volunteer & Service-Learning Center sponsored the event.
“We very much appreciate what they did,” Geniel’s adult son Greg said of the volunteers. “It was just amazing, and we were totally impressed.”
