Xactware Publishes June 2013 Price List

 — Saturday, June 1, 2013 —

The June 2013 price list updates for more than 460 regions in the United States and Canada are now available for download.

A summary of price changes reported in this update are as follows (this percent change is based on the national averages that have been reported since the May 2013 price list publication and from June 2012 to June 2013):

May to June

June 2012 to June 2013

30-yr. Laminated Shingle Labor and Material

Common Drywall Materials

Common Labor and Material

Common Lumber Material

Common Material Only

Retail Labor Rates

Pricing research for the June 2013 publication, when compared to May 2013, shows the Labor and Material report, which measures common material and labor used in claims and remodeling, increased in both the United States and Canada. In addition, the 30-year Laminated Shingle Labor and Material and Retail Labor reports both increased in the United States and Canada. The Common Drywall Materials report showed no change, and the Common Lumber Material and Common Material Only reports decreased in both the United States and Canada.

The information reported here is based on a national average, and it is important to note that actual changes will vary within each individual pricing market. It is also important to remember Xactware’s published pricing information is based on recently completed surveys and estimate transactions.

Price List Support for the Moore, Okla., Tornado
On the afternoon of Monday, May 20, an EF5 tornado, with peak winds estimated at 210 miles per hour, struck Moore, Okla., and adjacent areas. The tornado touched down west of Newcastle at 2:56 p.m. CDT, staying on the ground for 39 minutes over a 17-mile path, crossing through a heavily populated section of Moore. The tornado was 1.3 miles wide at its peak.

Xactware is closely monitoring the region and will continue to provide more specifics on the areas affected by the storm. Throughout the clean-up and repair process, we will survey each market to stay abreast of any demand surge and resulting price changes; we will report changes as they occur. Customers should expect that all price changes resulting from the storm will be included in the price list publications released each month. We will continue to monitor the areas and will determine if an interim price list is needed.

Local market conditions
Xactware makes every effort to ensure pricing information contained in this update represents market costs at the time of publication. Since actual market prices can vary and change rapidly, and since many factors can affect the cost of a project (including — but not limited to — labor, equipment, and material costs as well as the rates and application of sales tax), we strongly recommend customers monitor their local markets for any such changes and adjust their estimate pricing as deemed appropriate.

Gasoline prices increased in the U.S. and in Canada
Since the May 2013 publication, gasoline prices have increased 3.55 percent in the United States and 5.23 percent in Canada. When compared to June 2012, gasoline prices have decreased 0.65 percent in the United States and increased 2.78 percent in Canada. Because gasoline prices can change rapidly, Xactware recommends users monitor their local costs to determine whether repair or construction costs have been affected. For further details, see the U.S. Department of Energy website.

Comparative prices (national averages) for the last month are as follows:

Pricing feedback
Pricing feedback is one of the ways Xactware ensures that the cost information reported reflects actual market prices. It is highly valuable to both Xactware and you, as a user. Unless an estimate assignment is returned to XactAnalysis (i.e., program work), Xactware does not receive automatic feedback. Estimates written outside program work can return feedback by regularly running the feedback utility within Xactimate, XactRemodel, or XactPRM. To run the feedback utility:

  1. Click Services in the menu bar of the Control Center tab.
  2. Select Feedback and then click Yes.

This will process and package information from all estimates that have not previously been collected via feedback or completed assignments. Your feedback information will be sent to Xactware the next time you connect to XactAnalysis.

Please report any price changes to Xactware as soon as possible. We will then adjust any information that can be independently verified for inclusion in future price list publications. You can submit pricing feedback online or via email to Xactware’s pricing team at:
