About the course
There are many important construction pros that play a role in the building of a structure. This includes architects, engineers, designers, drafters, developers, general contractors, subcontractors, building inspectors, and more. The role of each of these pros is reviewed. Work that must be done before construction begins is discussed and includes finding an appropriate lot, having an appropriate plan drawn, obtaining a building permit, and hiring a general contractor. The role of the building inspector is also discussed. When all preliminary work is done, the contractor marks the location where the excavator will dig the hole. The contractor must carefully determine the location of the lot boundaries as well as all easements. With the location of the home precisely determined, the excavator digs the hole in a way that provides room for the foundation and access for workers.
